A Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom Makeover

Before moving in, Keith and Linda wanted to ensure that, as their ‘forever home’, it would exactly fit their criteria for the future, so they called in KBS to take a look, and come up with some suggestions.

“I had tried several other companies too,” says Keith, “but was getting tired of the slow responses and lack of interest. When KBS stepped up to the mark I was very impressed with not only their ideas, but their ‘can do’ attitude as well.”

After a little negotiating on the final designs, we set to work turning their apartment into their dream home.

The brief covered everything from the kitchen to the bedroom ensuite, the bathroom and the cloakroom.

“I popped in every day to check on results and answer any queries,” says Keith, “but apart from that, I left everyone to it. The workmen had a key, and everything was handled extremely well. I had no problem with any of the work at any stage. Everyone was hugely professional and we got exactly what we wanted.”

The results are stunning. The kitchen has white units and black granite worksurfaces – a timeless and classic combination that really suits the apartment. All the appliances are by AEG – everything from the oven, fan oven, warming tray, washing machine, fridge freezer and induction hob (etc). “We’re very impressed with those,” says Keith.

The rest of the apartment follows suit. Out went the old boiler and in with the new. In went new radiators and LED lighting. Fitted cupboards in the bedroom, and a new en-suite too.

As Keith’s retirement present to himself, we designed and built a drinks unit, which takes pride of place in the dining room. Rather than take up space in their fridge, Keith was keen to have something bespoke, and he’s thrilled with the results.

The left side of the cupboard opens out into a wine rack. Next to that it’s a drinks fridge, and alongside that the other two cupboards serve as storage for beer, wine and soft drinks. Both of these cupboards have pull out drawers.

The entire apartment is now unrecognisable, ready for its new owners who are anticipating a stylish and very comfortable future there!
