A Design and Supply Family Kitchen

The couple were undergoing a home extension – incorporating a kitchen/diner across the back of the house. Having considered all options for their units and appliances, from Ikea through to Smallbone, the couple settled on KBS thanks to a combination of (in their words), our winning design, quality of the images in the proposal, the quotation and our ‘can do’ attitude.

The couple came to us with a clean slate and our designer Sue visited their home in order to understand the space. “I felt this put KBS head and shoulders above some of the others,” says Mrs Oza. “You can only really understand the nuances/peculiarities of a space when you’re in it! Sue then came up with the design from scratch which we only had to tweak for our preferences.

Once this was done, it was all systems go, and now the work is complete, they are delighted. “It’s completely transformed how we live,” says Mrs Oza. “There is plenty of space for everyone and the children have a place of their own, where they can play and I can keep an eye on them when I’m cooking.

“We’ve got a dining table for family meals, or the choice of the breakfast bar around the peninsula. It’s absolutely wonderful – so social. We can’t get over it!”

The Detail:
Units: Hacker units. Laser Brilliant in Atlantic Blue, and some units in Laser Soft in Cashmere matte, with stainless steel coloured plinths.
Worktops: Silestone 3cm in Coral Clay with upstand and window sill.
Peninsular: Designed for 5/6 stools. It also has a 5 burner gas hob with curves all-round the peninsular
Appliances: Neff – single oven/ 5 burner gas hob/ Built-in microwave
Other: Franke – under mounted bowls including a prep sink beside gas hob/ filter tap/Pull-out spray tap
